Yeah, I've seen those in recent years, ancient golf-ball tech in action. Had dimples on the bottom of my body board in the early 90's for a similar reason. Dimples would catch air bubbles, air presents less drag than water. Unfortunately, I was young and strong then and didn't feel the need to record my strokes per wave to compare efficiencies with others.
