Trailer brake controler for 10' f150?
I have a 2010 f150 SCAB, 2wd. My wife has the identical truck but hers has the trailer brake controller in it. I'm trying to order the controller for mine but have found many part numbers. Which one is correct? And is it true that the wiring is already installed behind the little compartment.

If not, eTrailer.com (or any Ford dealer) can sell you the correct wiring harness to add the plug for the trailer brake controller.

In 2010, Ford changed the TBC so that the gain read out shows up in the dash panel and not in the TBC module itself, that may be why there were several part numbers.
If the harness is there, it will have a dummy plugged into it, so that it doesn't look like it will fit. You need to remove the dummy and then you will see the plug.

Will need the dealer to update the computer to recognize the controller. My dealer charged one hour minimum ($75) for this 5 minute job. So I asked how much to install it? $100. So I ended up going that route.
I have a 2010 Lariat with the heated/cooled seats and center console. So installing it was trickier.

I've had many integrated brake controllers and none have come close to the Tekonsha Prodigy T3. In fact, my RAM 3500, rated for 30k towing has the integrated controller disabled and I use the T3 instead (Swap between my truck and wife's Jeep GC as needed) Far more effective. Only downside is it's not as integrated looking as a stock.

unless you're looking at a very small PUP...it's not a case of saving your trucks brakes.
If you're buying a from a dealer, they shouldn't allow you to pull off the lot w/o a brake controller.
