I've got a '17 Super Crew XLT with 6.5 ft bed and max tow package. I tow a 2010 Jayco 32BHDS in Utah mountains and the truck does just fine. I've also got a 12k equalizer hitch, which makes all the difference. Keep an eye on your temps, set up your trailer brake and hitch for your trailer and you'll be fine. Just don't be in a rush to get where your going.

Porpoising is usually a mismatch of balance and WDH springs. Too light on the ball and too light or too heavy on the springs can cause it. If the TW is 12% move some weight forward, if it is more than 13% then the bars are incorrect and should be sized closer to the TW of the trailer. For my truck and trailer I have 1500 bars and a little more than 13.5% TW, Rock steady. Prior to that I had 800 pound bars on a Husky RB, and even with 13+% it porpoised occasionally. After a final weigh with the 2x4 and scale setup I found that my over all TW was nearly 1000 pounds and got the 1500 Blue Ox.

Now if the TW was less than 800 pounds, the 1500 pound bars would do just the opposite and take too much off making it porpoise. It's a fine balancing act between TW and spring bars. When you get them just right, its smooth sailing.

That's impressive! Is your truck also equipped with the HD payload package?
