Towing with PMetric Michelin 275 65 18
Just bought 4 Michelin P275 65 R18, LTX A/T 2 , 114T, load range E, max psi 51, load range 2601 lbs.
Take offs for $400, 10 miles from dealership to tire store. Thought I could not pass this up.
I have a 2010 F150 Lariat and tow a tent trailer at 2800lbs, <500lbs of junk in the bed. 250 lb tongue weight.
The door sticker says LT tires, not Pmetric. I tried to have them installed today a a regional size tire store and they declined.
Any advice on how to get them mountged?

LT 265 75 18 in load range E is a 10 ply tire and should have a max PSI of 80, and is not considered a P-metric. You have some mis-information somewhere. I would go read the sidewall again to ensure you have the correct info.

You could have them look up cheap tires for your truck and when they suggest P-Passenger tires than call them to task as why they will not put the tires you have on the truck. Almost every tire dealer will have passenger tire come up.

I've seen a lot of tires and never have seen a tire rated E as a P-metric, nor have I ever seen a tire with a max 51 PSI
P-metric 44psi
Load C 50psi
Load D 65 psi
Load E 80 psi
P-metric 44psi
Load C 50psi
Load D 65 psi
Load E 80 psi

I agree. The numbers seem unique but they are verified and legitimate. Found that Discount Tire recognized this and did the mounting. Truck rides smoother, quieter and at 40psi each corner. No noticeable increase in tire/road noise or harmonics at any speed to 70. This weekend will allow higher speeds and further review.

No, you're mixing up your apples and your oranges. P-Series tires do not have load ranges such as C, D and E. With a max weight capacity of 2,601 @ 51 PSI, those are P-Series tires, not LE tires in load range E.
2010 F-150 18" tires available for factory ordered pickups:
P265/60R18 OWL A/S (5), 4x2
P275/65R18 OWL A/T, 4x4
LT275/65R18C OWL A/T (4), 4x4
So if your door sticker says LT275/65R18 tires, then those are load range C tires, not E. The only load range E tires available on a 2010 F-150 were the 17" tires on a pickup with the heavy duty payload pkg.
But that's not your problem. Your problem is that lots of national chain tire stores, including Sears and Wal-Mart and many others, will not mount any tire on the wheels of a vehicle unless the tire matches the stock size and type that was OEM. There are a few ways around that policy.
1] Find an independent tire store and ask if they will mount and balance your new tires. If you cannot find one, then recruit a helper with a vehicle that can haul 4 mounted tires in the trunk or bed. Remove your 4 tires/wheels from your F-150 and take them to a tire store and ask them to remove the tires from the wheels.
2] Discard the 4 old tires and take the wheels plus the new tires to a different independent dealer and ask them to mount and balance the tires that are going to be mounted on an old utility trailer. (My local Sam's Club will do that for me.)
