I checked out once and had the same idea of hauling the truck on the trailer. If I recall, anything longer than a regular cab short box would not fit on a Uhaul trailer. That was a couple of years ago so worth checking again.

I was just in this exact same situation and oddly enough my wife drives the same car lol I just completed a move with a 6x12' Uhaul trailer with 2700lbs of gear between the bed of the truck and the trailer. I drove around 1200 miles in 2.5 days. The move was up north and I hit a little but of "bad weather" on the way up but even at a max of 70mph the truck and trailer were great. I averaged 11.8 mph which I was very happy with. Be warned though there is a big difference in safety between 74mph and when you hit 75mph, let's just say it gets really sketchy there lol

If your employer is paying for everything, hire a professional mover and pull the wife's Accord on a tow dolly behind your truck.

A uhaul dolly will not fit your truck best bet is what RonB said to do but if it was me i would do the uhaul trailor behind your truck and then let the wife drive her car

Been there, done that. 21 years in the Military, and you do some moving.

Rented trailers and pulled with pickup and also rented Penske and Uhaul trucks. Only rented the trucks when I just had to much stuff for the biggest Uhaul trailer. Hated driving those trucks. Sucked up the fuel, and where real dogs going through the mountains.

If a trailer will hold all of your stuff, pull the trailer. Just make sure you load it properly to get a good weight distribution, and pack it in tight to prevent any shifting of the load.

Well, called you Uhaul today and asked them if i can put my truck on the trailer. And the guy thought i was joking. He said its too big too heavy and they wont do it period. So this option is cancelled. I think i am gonna get a trailer and put the f150 up for the challenge. I am just curious on how fast i can go. Because 45mph ain't gonna cut it for me.

Damn that's what the wife and I did when we moved from FL to NC filled a 22ft truck and put her Ex cab SB on the trailer and she drove my blazer.

Those uhaul guys can only go by what the book tells them.

The truck will probably not fit on the auto transport. I work for uhaul and many times somebody wants to haul a larger car and the trailer is not long enough. Your best bet is get a uhaul truck and tow her car. She will just have to live with the fact that driving the truck is a better option unless you want to pull a trailer with your truck that far. Also always get the coverage on uhaul equipment small dents turn into big money a broken mirror is $300 to replace.

I was a little late in my response. lol. The problem is the truck is just to long to fit on the trailer.
