i know this has probably been discussed already but I haven’t been able to find it. Trying to get an idea what my max tow weight for my f150 is or even just an idea.
2017 F150
sport 4x4
V8
3:31
has lV tow hitch
back up assist
tow mode
4 and 7 pin socket
i try looking on door jam for a recommended max trailer tow info and nothin. I would really appreciate the info.

The max tow info isn't on the door jamb. I believe the backup assist means you have a tow package and not just the hitch. Look up the 2017 towing guide and use your cab/bed/engine/gear configuration to find your GCWR.GCWR - truck weight - occupants - anything else in/on the truck no included in the truck weight - weight of hitch = max tow weight. Then you need to make sure your hitch/rear axle, and GVWR (payload) can handle the tongue weight.

Your door jamb has two stickers. One is partly yellow, and has your payload on it. The other has your max vehicle and axle capacities.

Reading through the threads on this section of the forum will explain how to calculate what you can tow, which is usually limited by Payload.

you need to focus on payload capacity, THEN towing capacity. because you'll run out of payload WAY before reaching towing capacity.

You know what would be nice is a sticky that walks folks through all of the calculations that can affect their towing capacity for travel trailers, 5th wheels and flat tow.
