Default Tow rating difference between Crew Cab and Super Crew Cab Raptors?

Can someone tell me why Ford has the Crew Cab Raptor rated for 6,000 lbs. towing yet the Super Crew Cab is rated for 8,000 lbs. Same basic truck why such a difference?

Both are meaningless. See door payload sticker in actual truck.

Uh?

Super Crew is a crew cab, just Ford's name for it. Are you saying the Super Cab (extended cab) is 6k and the Super Crew is 8K?

Door Payload is meaningless when you have minimal tounge weight and a trailer that weighs 20,000 lbs. Unless you're saying that's ok?

Doors don't mention max trailer weight do they?

If you look on the Ford wed-site under specifications the Raptor's are labeled Crew Cab (meaning Extra or Extended Cab smaller rear doors) and Super Crew Cab (meaning a true four door or double cab). In the Max Towing the Crew Cab is only rated at 6,000 lbs. GVWR. That's 2,000 lbs. less than the Super Crew Cab. Both Trucks are identical. with the Crew Cab weighing a little less one would think the GWVR would be slightly higher.

I sure wish they'd offer a 6.5' bed on the extended cab.

When I visit the site it lists "supercab" and "supercrew"

though you are correct, the SCAB lists 6k# and the SCREW lists 8k#. But both have a 12k# GCWR.

also noteworthy are the GVWR
SCAB: 6600# (spec payload 1000#)
SCREW: 7050# (spec payload 1200#)

very important thing to note is that GCWR of only 12000#

in order to tow an 8k# trailer, the truck would need to weigh less than 4k#....

Listed Curb weights from Ford are:
SCAB: 5525#
SCREW: 5697#

Everything I have seen on Ford.com and in the F-150 Order Guide and in the Ford RV and Trailer Towing Guide about the 2019 Raptor says SuperCab or SuperCrew. No mention of a Crew Cab or Super Crew Cab. Same terminology Ford has used since at least 2011. Of course everyone with two nickels to rub together for brains knows that a SuperCab is an extended cab, and a SuperCrew is a crew cab.

A Raptor was designed to be an off-road race truck, good enough to compete in the Baha 1000 race. No need for longer than a 5.5' bed, so Ford doesn't offer the 6.5' or 8' bed in a Raptor. No need for the ability to tow a heavy trailer, so the tow rating is enough to tow a small utility trailer hauling a dirt bike or quad or two, but not enough to tow a normal full-size travel trailer. If you want to haul a heavy trailer, Ford makes an F-150 that will do it, but not with a Raptor.

The supercab is both a lighter and shorter wheelbase truck than the super crew. Both of those impact tow-ability negatively. The supercab is going to have more front end lift, and will experience greater sideways push, under the same load. The larger tires do not help any of this.

With a long-throw, soft suspension designed for off-roading, I'm surprised the tow ratings are that high. GM once built a similar vehicle for serious off-road use. It had a 8,200 Lb tow rating, but it weighed 6,600 Lbs, over a half-ton more than the Raptor.
