Default Tow pkg

I just bought a
2011 5.0 with off road package. I tow a gooseneck horse trailer. I just discovered the plug for the trailer lights will not allow my interior trailer lights to work. Has anyone else had this issue with their RV?
I am very disappointed with Ford for not having a plug that works with my trailer!
My old Ford worked just fine with the plug in I had installed. It is going to cost about $85 to have it changed on my 2011. (And I thought I was buying a complete tow pkg!)

Show us a picture of your truck connector and your trailer connector. Does the truck have a 7 way connector? Does it have a trailer brake controller?

A trailer emulator can be plugged into the truck to determine if it is working properly.

Are all the fuses and relays in place? My '13 came with a relay and fuse package in the glove box that had to be installed. I had to install the extra relays for the battery power and reverse lights on my '01 F250 as well.

Yes, the hot wire to the trailer does not function when the ignition is off. That is done to protect the vehicle battery from getting run down by the trailer.

Also check to see if there is a separate battery disconnect switch on the trailer, most fivers have one tucked away in a compartment...

Be sure you have the relay and fuse from the glove box installed in the fuse box.

with a piece of wire and a couple spade lugs you could replace the relay with a jumper that would keep the +12v pin on the connector hot all the time. Circuit would still be protected by the fuse, but you could run your battery down.

Default Towing issues with the inside trailer lights

This is the bottom of my connector from my horse trailer.

Here's the place by the bumper I plug my trailer into. And yes, it came with the truck and has a brake controller.
