I'm renting a travel trailer in a few weeks to see how I like it before potentially buying one and I was wondering for those who have one what their thoughts are about not having tow mirrors. Are the stock mirrors on a 2018 completely useless when towing a medium size travel trailer? Aside from the mirrors I have already determined my truck can handle the trailer without any issues using a properly setup WDH.
I have the same company for my 2012 and they work quite well. I opted for these over the dumbo oversized tow-mirrors. Just a preference...they're clean, clear, and have no road noise in the picture.

I like those. Definitely look better than the Ford tow mirrors and the price is pretty reasonable too.
I had some similar clip-on mirrors for my ‘05, but we only tow a boat and I really didn’t use them... I found them to be difficult to adjust and not the helpful, so I just used the stock mirrors. The mirrors on the ‘19 seem smaller, though, so I’m again thinking of tow mirrors. Those linked on Amazon look like a decent deal, especially compared to OEM replacement tow mirrors. I’m not a big fan if the split panes in a mirror, but I may have to put up with them to save several hundred dollars.
We bought these for a buddy's truck after he broke a standard passenger side mirror.
Power Glass, Heated, Turn Signals, 8-Pin.
Basically standard 302A Spec.
His truck is a pre-temp sensor '18.
We got the Flag Type like the new SuperDuty.
On this set: Fold well (He needs this for garage clearance), No vibration, No obvious increase in wind noise. Only quibble is getting use to the main glass in the passenger side which makes things a little farther away than factory. Quality appears to be near OEM. So far he is happy with them.

Price for the pair was $209.99 + Tax.
Watch out for the OEM Tow mirrors. I have the 502 package and factory ordered the Tow Mirror. I do love them, but not to fix them. I have the Telescopic, power fold, heated, blind spot, spot light... they are amazing. When my failed the cost was $1,900 to replace 1 of them... and Dealer refused to cover under warranty too. The power fold function is not repairable, and is a sealed unit. After much debate (several months) with Dealer and Ford Canada.... finally they stepped up and covered it. Happy again, but very careful with these puppies now.

Not as good, but still better than nothing are these:
I picked up two sets of them last summer at yard sales...maybe $10 for both sets. Would I want to go across the country using those? Nope, but for intermittent use...they're fine.
Yeah you won't be able to see behind you very well when changing lanes or backing into a spot without some kind of tow mirrors. I bought mine on ebay for $199 and they came in a syppo box. The lower mirror section also makes regular backing up much easier too.
I have a couple toys I pull around. My boat is a 19' (not sure on width), and the regular stock mirrors work 100%. I also have an enclosed sled trailer that is 8 feet wide. I've pulled it around a few times when I forgot about the mirrors and is dooable. But with that width the slip on style gives a good view to the back end. Not sure on the brand, but they just slide over the stock mirror and have a solid attachment. Even has a hole for the signal light.
Simple install, not expensive, and do a good job for rear vision.
If the trailer is 8 ft+ wide, I would suggest using extra mirrors. Maybe the rental company might have some?
This is the only pic I have that shows the mirror.

I have these as well. Work great for my Travel Trailer.
My Lariat has chrome caps. I placed blue painters tape inside the mirrors to help protect my chrome. Works great
