Default Talk Me Out of It!

To much time! To many good deals. I'm considering a newer trailer.

2018 Screw F150 4x4
3.5EB 3.55 53B
7000 GVWR
1907 lb Payload
7000 lb Tow Limit (53B)
(Upgrade to 53A/53C/Police Swaybar Possible)

OEM Brake Controller
Husky Centerline TS 800/1200

Grand Design Imagine 2250RK
27' 11" / 6995 GVWR (New ones get 7495 Cert)

Okay, someone talk me out of this combo.

Same Transcooler.
XL 100A 53A added Solid Bar and that's it.
101A+ Added Pro Backup Assist and Hookup LED.

Upgrade the receiver and you are good to go. Only reason I say that, nice to have the stronger receiver. My 2014 towed my 7600 GVWR Coleman up and over the IKE, standard tow package, 3.15 gearing. It did get hot, but that was MY fault putting 85 octane in with a performance/tow tune. If a 2014 could do it with a Gen 1 and 3.15 gears, 2018 can easily do it with a Gen 2 and proper towing gears. Heck, that 14 could move out really good pulling my trailer. I still remember that time where the 2 lanes were going to merge to one about a 1/2 mile past the light, and the people didn't want to be behind someone towing a big trailer, so they got in the left lane, which was the ending lane. They were a bit light on moving and didn't realize how quick my truck can get up to speed, yeah, they had to floor it of slow down because I was up to the speed limit a lot faster than they figured I would be.

So yeah, you have enough to tow that trailer. Sorry, can't talk you out of it.

I agree, although towards the upper end of what I'd do, I think you'll be fine as well.

Receiver = 1160/11600

You think I need to swap for the 1320/13200 receiver/bumper section?

Your trailer is rated at 6995? Now that would be empty with no supplies, water, etc? And you have the 53B 7000# pkg? What am I missing in this equation? I generally like some overkill to be on the safe side.

That's GVWR not claimed dry weight.
Prior to 2020 they had 6995/3300x2 Stickers. Shortly after 2020 started they changed the stickers to 7495/3500x2 Stickers. According to GD the only change was the stickers. I'm actually planning to buy a used trailer although GD did mention they are considering offering stickers with the higher numbers to current owners.

With the addition of the solid sway bar I now have the exact same hardware as a 2018 XL 100A rated 10700 Towing. So being close isn't really that big a deal. I have the same strength reserve but not the rating... However over 7000 Towing would also mean I was over the 6995 GVWR on the trailer (unless I changed the sticker) so I'm not likely to venture there anyway.

We have a 2020 Imagine XLS 22RBE & love ours! Ours checks in @ just over 5200#'s & Gross is @ 6995. My 2016 Lariat Screw 5.0 handles it fine. I'm using the Husky Center line with 800# - 1200# bars.

I'm guessing with the extra 2' I'll be a little heavier.
If I have a real world light weight under 6,000 lb I would be pretty happy (pumping up GVWR is usually a sign the trailer starts out porky).
