On mine I am very picky on roof care and make sure I clean it twice a year as well as protect it from UV, and make sure all the seams are tight, any iffy ones get resealed. The better care I take of it now, the less I need to do to it when time to sell it. Right now it is in better shape then when I bought it and it was like new when I bought it. Well, except for the hail dings on its front. It's a reminder of our Trip to Utah.
I get the Sealtech test on my camper every year and have the roof cleaned when needed. Right now the roof is white as snow (clean snow). I had hail damage on my previous 2008 Jay Flight 19BH that I bought new. The damage while only cosmetic was bad enough for the insurance to cut a check to help put us in our new (at the time) Jay Flight 26BH. The hail damage took some off of the trade in value but not that much.

Checked a 17 Plat V8 payload. 1570 pounds, so only a 13 pound difference to my 502a. What I plan to order should have more as it will be RWD and no moonroof, guessing around 1600 or so. Of course until I do a seat test, I am not committing to anything. I also saw a nice looking 250, but no payload was listed. This weekend is going to have lousy weather again, so another week in the barn before I can pull it out and get it cleaned.

Been trying to locate the trailer I had looked at a few weeks ago and no luck, have no idea what brand it was.

Also dry hitch weight means nothing. After loaded with propane tanks, batteries, and all inside camper gear, and etc, tongue weights are between 12% and 14% 'normally' with an 'average' of 13% of loaded trailer weight on most.
What are your thoughts on Jayco quality since being acquired by Thor?

I've seen several comments about how Thor is more concerned about profit over CS/quality product, but there are few independent makers out there now. I just got a Highland Ridge Mesa Ridge 2410RL, and like it so far. Not sure if it would fit the OP's needs, but they have different models/lines just like other brands. I did not like the current style/appearance of the exterior of the Jayco TT's, and wife preferred the style/appearance of the Mesa Ridge line over Jayco, but just our preferences.

^^^ what he said. Thor owns Airstream and I will say even we Airstreamers have issues like everyone else. Granted they are great quality but has/is heading down slowly especially the current hype on TT's so they are mass producing and QC is being overlooked. I got our in Sept '16 and only had one small issue. The '17 and up owners (when Airstream sales started to sky rocket) are having issues after issues. Once you own a trailer, you got got yourself a hobby

There is lots of debate about which is better (FG vs tin) and it's a personal choice IMO. I prefer the FG for appearance, and I would guess is easier to wash & wax. I would compare cleaning the two surfaces between a glass window and vinyl siding, but I've never had a tin sided TT. Just an observation.

I am almost to the point where the new F150 models are off the table. The options are nice, but with all the trouble my current has had, and still has, and others have the same complaints on brand new 18's, I am very leery about getting another one, so it will either be a 14 F150 or a newer Superduty. If I do get a SD, then I will look into a 5th wheel, though haven't seen many that have bunks, and those that I did see are out of production and not available.

And this is why the wife wouldn't let me get a SD! lol Once we go SD, I want to move up to a 25' or 28' TT. Then more toys to get and haul so that I can justify making use all them payloads and GCVWR

I need to make more TT friends here locally so I know how it is like washing and waxing the FG TT's. I recently washed and wax'ished my tin can and it wasn't too bad but this is our first TT so I can't comment much about other make/model.

LOL I am already at 28 feet!!! I am beginning to have my doubts that the suit against Ford is going anywhere and I have wasted my time. I found two F250's that are right in the ballpark for me, a 2016 with a topper and a 2017 RWD with everything I want in it, both under under 45K. I can't do a damned thing until all is said and done, my hands are tied.

In the meantime, some ideas of makes/models of trailers would be helpful to pass my time, heck if I find a trailer I can make a deal on I just may do that.
