I took some photos today to show what I am up against. How they got away with an indoor metal junction box is beyond me. I never knew it was there until now.

That can't be factory.... What year is the trailer?

Wow! That is crazy.

oh, I can believe it. RV manufacturers don't need to follow special rules like automotive and house builders do. They don't build them to last 22 years like yours did.

Amazon sells 12' cable with 7 pin plug. Also has waterproof RV cable junction box with 7 terminals. You wire your trailer wiring in one end and use new cable/plug out the other. I mounted it on a-frame.
You have to put ring terminals on cable ends etc. takes awhile. I did this on my trailer and my sons came new that way.

Thank you raisin. I am going to give that a try. Wiring looks to be tight in there with those large guage wires, but that is what it is made for. Just ordered one. Will see how it goes.

Nice find! Been looking for something similar for my RC trailer, but have it all wired up now with parts store finds.

raisin, I owe you.
Got the connection box in the mail today. That thing is perfect. Measures 5x3x1.5 inside. Will get to connections tomorrow. Found blue and yellow ring lugs in my stash, so I'm ready. Not looking forward to drilling in the frame to mount the box.
