ramps for loading ATVs

I snagged these off amazon.
They just came in and are pretty nice. Fairly light and the welds on it look good. You can not see it in the pictures but there are 1/4" tall "scoops" at each of the little holes to help with traction. The other nice thing is that unlike the ones with the crossbars spaced every 6", these ones wont have issues with smaller tires getting caught, like a wheel barrow or lawn mower.

I bought the non-folding ramps from Blain's Farm & Fleet. They have a strap you hook to the bumper to prevent the ramp from coming off the tailgate. Work great loading my Sportsman 570 and they're on sale for $99.99 till 5-1-16.

I would buy a single unit ramp as opposed to two individual ramps. Thats a disaster waiting to happen. I know two people who have experienced ramps slipping off while loading. One got lucky and the other had to crawl about 1/4 mile with a broken hip to flag down a car on the county road.
Not doing so is an accident waiting to happen, as happened to the people you know. This cannot happen with them secured to the truck but can still happen with a single ramp that is not secured.

Yes, you're right. I didn't articulate my point very well. I don't like dual ramps because its difficult to secure them so they can't slip in different directions, especially on uneven ground. A one piece ramp may shift a bit as you start up, but at least it stays in one piece. One ratchet strap from the center of the ramp to the hitch pulls down and forward, and makes for a stable platform.
