Default Ramp Recommendations

Looking for a pair of ramps for loading things like riding mower, bush hog, motorcycles, etc into the bed of my 2010 F150 Lariat short-bed. My biggest concern is how the top of the ramp fits to the tailgate. Worried about it slipping off the tailgate while loading or unloading equipment. BTW, my tailgate has the "old man" swing-up pole option.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Most ATV ramps would do what you want, just look for one with relatively close rung spacing. Use a ratchet strap from the bumper or hitch to the ramp to keep it from kicking off during loading.

I'm really happy with my Caliber Ramp Pro thus far. It's wide enough for a quad or lawn tractor, has a built-in ratchet strap to attach to the hitch to the ramp, and has glides for sled carbides but can still be walked up and down.

I have folding aluminum Ohio Steel ramps. They are light weight and no rungs so very easy for loading. The aluminum is dimpled for traction rather than using rungs. I've never had a ramp slip off the tail gate but I'm also very careful loading and generally back the truck up to a hill or curb so the ramps aren't as steep.

On my 2018 I got the factory ramps. They attach to the tailgate perfectly securely by sliding on to a plate that is bolted to the tailgate. I believe you can order them for install as well. They are no doubt designed for 2015 and onward, but you might be able to make them fit. Now, having said that, there may be aftermarket ramps that attach in a similar fashion, and at a reduced price, so it may be worth looking for something similar to the Ford factory ones.

If cost is a concern, just get 2x10's at Home Depot with the metal ramp end kit that bolts on. Put an eye hook into the side or back and ratchet strap it to the receiver so it can't slip out. That's likely the cheapest option for decent ramps.

I got some ramps on Amazon and they came with straps to secure them to the back of the truck.

Keep in mind the clearance of whatever you're loading.

For a riding mower or cruiser motorcycle you will need a fairly long ramp perhaps arched.

I have a fly racing folding ramp and it well. My truck is an XLT so I'm not sure if it will work with your lariat.
