Default Question for Ecoboost owners towing

First post here. Don't even have my profile completed. Just bought a 2013 F150 screw. Will be towing a <6000 pound trailer. I see that Ford recommends using premium when towning. What say you?

I've never put premium in while towing. Never towed anything over 5k. No issues so far.

No premium here, towing or not. I tow significantly heavier than 6K also.

YES! Not only does the engine make 20 more HP and 10 more ft/lbs of torque with premium, but I get 1 to 1.5 more mpg while towing.

Premium may provide better power especially if at high altitudes, very hot, and/or towing a heavy load. But I have not used it and have towed 7k with no problems.

Just like my comment on the Rv website, Ford recommends you use it while towing so thats enough reason for me to use it. I actually use it all the time. I'm either towing the camper in the summer, double axle dump trailer or my buddy's bass boat. In the winter it's the snowmobile trailer so thats why I just fill up with premium all the time. The extra 20hp and 10lb/ft of torque is just a bonus!

I only run premium in my 2013 Eco because most of the time I am towing my trailer.

If you install a boost gauge you will see that most of the time the motor is running under boost pressure when towing.

I am not taking any chances with regular gas.

Thanks for the responses. Since I live at 8200 feet and have to go over a pass in any direction to get out of here, guess I'll try the premium when towing.

I also have noticed similar results with using premium while towing. Especially in the hills...
