Can some one tell me what this is, what it’s for...??? I’ve google and look looked in the manual

It's a locking plug that blocks the hole where you install the rod to let the spare tire down. It uses the ignition key and is intended to prevent/reduce spare tire theft.

Sorry, forgot to say something. Page 328 in the 2010 owner's manual, but it is really doesn't have a clear picture of the lock access next to the license plate.


Luckily, I had a decent sales rep when I bought the truck new and he went over all of these type of things after the truck was delivered. Even including the relay and fuse in the baggie in the glove box, for the trailer towing battery charge circuit.

What I want to know is how do you get the handle & extensions back in the felt baggie that comes with the Crew Cabs...

...maybe I shoulda paid better attention when I took it out.

Thanks for that, now I don't feel so bad. SCAB is the same way. I finally got all the parts back in but it took some figgerin'.

P.S. One thing worse, the tool kit on a Honda ATV.

Where are the tools at in the Screw? Never had to use them in the 14, so didn't even consider looking for them in the 16!
