Default Pro trailer backup assist issues

I have a 2018 is the back up witchcraft called pro trailer backup assist. I know the purists are offended by my using this feature but I like it.

My problem is the system losing track of the sticker.. whenever I try it in an empty.parking lot it works flawlessly. When it try to use it to make a sharp turn into my campsite, it loses the sticker. It did it this weekend when the trailer was perfectly straight.

Any tricks with the sticker placement or any other ways to make this work when I need it?

If you're using a trailer with stuff mounted on the A-frame (propane, battery, jack etc.), PTBA can be pretty sensitive. Even the umbilical draped over part of the sticker can cause a loss of signal. There is some info in this recent thread about alternative sticker placement.

Also, might want to re-check all your setup measurements and inputs to ensure accuracy.

I have kept everything out of the way of the camera and sticker. I way getting a very clear view of the sticker but it was still lost.

Half the sticker is Matt, half is glossy. Is one specific end supposed to be closer to the camera?

Don't feel alone. I wanted to get it to work with my travel trailer, spent a lot of time with it, and as you, it loses it too often, so I quit using it. More junk electronics by F. . ., I mean China.

Mine drops it when moving from sun to shade, yes it is frustrating, I mostly use it for long straight backing.
