Default Payload Central - Please check in!

Hi All,
I am looking to buy a truck in the near future (October time frame) that can handle my upcoming 32' travel trailer (TT). For reference, the TT I'm looking at is a Prime Time 2950BH with a GVWR of ~7200 lbs and a loaded hitch weight that could be in the neighborhood of 900 lbs. FWIW, my family of 4 plus dog is around 550 lbs (kids are 6 and 4 and growing).

I'm debating between the F150 EcoBoost and the 2014 RAM with EcoDiesel. As I do research and read through the invaluable information on sites like these, I've come to the realization that towing capability comes down to PAYLOAD capacity of the truck. From what I can tell, the F150 has is it all over the RAM when it comes to payload. I know there are a lot of payload numbers floating around the different threads on this site, but I didn't see a dedicated thread so I was wondering if some folks would be willing to post their payload capacity either from the yellow sticker on the door or from the scales. My tow vehicle will also be my daily driver so I'm interested in your trim level and options as well, if you don't mind. For me, I'd likely be looking at a Platinum or heavily optioned Lariat or FX4; all would have to include the max tow.

If you have the numbers and don't mind sharing, I'd love to know what you've got and the payload capacity! I'd also love to hear from any former (or current) RAM owners who may have numbers to share.

Thanks for your help!

Super Duty.

32' is a long trailer. Never mind that you will be close to payload EMPTY.

2177. Then again my truck is a hd payload + max tow build. The builds you are looking at will be nowhere near that.

I have a 2013 Eco-Boost F150 Lariat SCrew 4x4 157" WB, 501A Pkg. 3.73 rear/Max Tow & HD Payload Pkg. No Roof or Nav. I have Leather Bucket seats Heat/cool w/flow thru console, spray in factory liner, and wheel well liners.

My available payload is 2,162lbs

With a Platinum & FX4 you can only get the Max Tow option. With the Lariat you can get both Max Tow & HD Payload options. You will run out of PAYLOAD well before you run out of Tow Capacity.

XLT scab 4x4 7200 gvwr package XLT plus and convenience package. Stickers says 1500ish. I figure 1000 remains without a trailer hooked up once my toolbox is added plus passengers. Haven't weighed though

My trailer is 32' 9" , 7500lbs and my truck tows it like a dream! When fully loaded I'm under all my trucks ratings so there is certainly no reason for a Super Duty... Especially if the OP is going to be using it as a daily driver!

2012 ecoboost screw, 4x4, 157" wb, XLT, maxtow and a few other things. 7700 GVWR, 1700lb payload on yellow sticker, 6200lbs with only me, some full tool bags, RAS, mudflaps, and a half tank of fuel.

I wish I would've got the HD suspension pkg. I couldn't find one and basically ran out of time.
