What he said^^^^^^^^ Those rides are very nice but not meant to haul much.

You have owned several F-150s. Have you never looked before?

Remember, if you made mods your payload may even be lower.

With a family of four, 200 pound husband, 120 pound wife, two kids totalling 150 pounds and the family dog at 50 pounds, you are down to 568 pounds. At 13% tongue weight, that's a max 4,369 LOADED trailer.

If a 7,500 loaded trailer were towed, at 13% tongue weight, you would be 407 pounds over payload.

When one considers how many fancy trucks are out there, you realize how many clueless drivers are towing way over capacity with no clue. Scary.

Well, if you got to a point of paying all that extra money for a truck, evidently you bought it for the image of having a truck, the looks, sitting high, and hauling mulch and groceries, and not for actually hauling and towing anything above the capabilities of a RAV 4.

You might want to focus on why you got the truck in the first place, and contain any ambitious thoughts of towing. Just refocus on why you purchase the truck, and ignore trying to use it like others are using theirs... you would only get disappointed.

I'm the least truck guy you would probably ever meet, and like a good power drill, I only like them for what they can do, and have little use for one for anything else, but like I use to tell my friends, when you see me in a truck, look behind it...it's gonna be something big.

My chronically distracted driving girlfriend is absolutely crazy about my truck, and think I'm wasting my money because I drive my old Honda as my daily driver over the truck. I asked her why she like my truck so much, and she said she like sitting high...and it's cute!!

She couldn't care less about payload, rear end, torque, 10 speed, LT tires, etc...only that it's cute.

She would have purchased your truck for the same reason you did.

Well I guess that meets the old 1/2 ton payload. I see many xlt’s with payloads that are easily double that. My question is: What are they adding to the limited that weighs 1000# ?

edit: does the OP have a diesel?

I just unquoted you...that's much better. 😊
2018 XLT HDPP,, and I need every bit of my payload,.and 1,320 lbs hitch ratings.

If I needed a bunch of "bells and whistles", I'd gotten a Toyota Highlander and an enclosed trailer for hauling, but I needed a truck for what only trucks can do.

I am very proud of your payload rating and how much you need it. But, why quote me if you didn’t answer one of my questions? I could have gloated about my truck just as easily as you did but this is not my thread, nor is it yours. Next time you quote someone at least start by attempting to answer their questions. Thanks

I'll take care of that with a quickness...erase you out of the equation.
The only question I saw that you asked, was on whether it was a diesel....is that correct?

I thought his door sticker answered that question with the 22 inch rim size and 35 pisi air pressure.

I'm not a truck guy, but that tells me it's a 1/2 ton.... whether a diesel 1/2 ton, that has to be answered by him.
