Default Overloads Fanning

1996 F150 4.9 Regular cab Long bed; I've noticed the bottom leaf springs just one on each side fanning from the others. I assume they are deliberately not bundled with the straps, that probably would do away with the whole overload thing. Aside from just loosing the U-bolts and beating them back into alignment, is there anything to be done? I could just be over reacting.
