The best part is, you don't have to eat as much depreciation or have the sad fact of I spent 25K and it's broken on the first trip. Plenty of horror stories around the forums about this. My next RV will be a gently used model.

I got lucky on my current rig, I had a great dealer who treated me fairly and honored all warranty issues. They did a great job on the PDI and prep and mine had very few issues all of which were addressed in a timely fashion.

Importance in order as I have learned them
1. Choice of dealer,
2. Choice of Floorplan,
then manufacturer of RV and everything else

Best of luck.
great piece of info, the depreciation is horrible on RV’s and I could never buy on new. I bought the lance when it was 3 years old and paid less than 1/4 of the new cost for basically a new camper.

the worst IMO is lazydays after they went public

I actually just left lazydays this evening. I went and looked at the grand design 2400bh. They seem friendly. Salesman was new but I won’t hold that against him. I haggled a bit and was firm on my price. They got close but I walked. $24,500 plus $699 dealer fee is the lowest I got them too. I told them $24k plus the dealer fee. They said we hate to lose you over $500 but, no is the answer. Then tried to convince me...and I said well I hate to walk over $500 but no is my answer. Drove back to Orlando. Lmao

the reason why I bring this up is that they mentioned going out of town/state cuz of a better deal. Then having to bring it to them for service/warranty work. The manager was selling me on paying a premium for good service and dealer responsibility.

and to clarify, I do think I got a good price offered. $24,500 plus $699 dealer fee down from $26,999 plus $699 dealer fee. Still wasn’t feeling like taking the plunge.

WE just bought a GD Imagine XLS 22RBE and couldn’t be more happy. We looked at 8-12 different makes and brands & kept coming back to GD because of the good reviews on customer service and after being in the GD it just felt like the right one for us. One nice thing about GD is you can take it to any licensed Rv facility for repairs or they will authorize a mobile tech if your 50 miles away from a dealership or it can’t be towed to one.

Coleman doesn't make RVs. the Coleman trailers are clones of Dutchmen trailers. Colemans are made for Camping World dealerships, by Dutchmen. i believe they are re-branded Aerolite models.

That is the same lazydays We went to, we actually prefer lamesa rv in Sanford. 6 months ago we almost bought a TT from lasydays, got them to drop the price a little bit they wouldn’t budge on the dealer fee. So I said ok and it came time for them to take me into finance and I broke the news I was paying cash. Salesman said hold on and the manager showed up and said he would not sell to me cash next they make all their money from financing. We walked away

I financed mine to get the best deal but paid it off the first month. Check the pre-payment penalty on the finance paperwork, mine was $150 if I paid it off within the first 12 months. I 'm guessing that's what the bank figures it's cost is to do the paperwork.

Never tell them you're paying cash. "Cash" sales are a PITA for dealers (auto or RV) and their business model has changed, they make money on the financing. Make sure you're ok with any prepayment penalites BEFORE closing the deal. When it come time for the "down payment" check write it out for the full amount or as Mike said pay it in full the next month.

Well la Mesa doesn’t have their sales price posted on the internet. So I requested the “everyday low price.” They emailed it over promptly. Already cheaper than after my haggling with other dealers. Looks like la Mesa May be the golden ticket.

Anyone have experience with their service department....specifically with the dealership in Sanford, fl?
