Default odd options

2013 3.5 4x4 xlt scab 6.6'. i am the second owner, first was a 3 year lease, bought from the original dealer. previous owner never towed anything as the fuse and relay were still NIB in my glove box.

truck has the brake controller, 4 and 7 way connections and the angled corners on the hitch indicating a higher towing option however it did not come with tow mirrors.

granted i was not searching for a new truck in 2013 so i don't know what options were available at that time but it seems strange to have 3 of the 4 towing options and not all 4. any thoughts?

What is the GVWR, axle ratings, payload found on the stickers on the driver's side door pillar?

Comparing that to page 3 of the 2013 Body Builders Layout Book should give you an idea.

I specifically ordered my MaxTow without tow mirrors. Don't want the things for the 95% of the time I am not towing. Not odd at all. It actually was a option to add and an adder on my build sheet.

based on the above photo can anyone shed some light on the limits of my truck's ability to tow? TIA.

Your GVWR and axle ratings are pretty standard issue. What you didn't provide is your cargo carrying capacity (payload), which will be found on the other (yellow/white/black) sticker on the door pillar. This will likely be your limiting factor with regard to tow capacity. Post a pic of that sticker. Here is a link to the Ford RV Trailer & Towing guide for 2013. Looks like your truck, with the L3 (3.31) axle is limited to about 9300 pounds towing - but again, you are likely to run out of payload before you hit that number.

In the Ford booklet I linked in my initial response, I do not see your exact GVWR or axle specs listed for the vehicle you describe. Look at pages 2 and 3 of that document to see what I mean. There are only two 2013 F150 configurations that show 7200 GVWR, 3750 fGAWR and 3850 rGAWR, they are SCREW 4x4, 145 wb, and Regular Cab 4x2, 145 wb. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on that, or you have a SCREW or a regular cab and not a SCAB!

hahahah pretty sure it's an scab, lord knows i struggled enough getting the rear seat back to release

payload is 1479.

i did view your link and saw the same thing you did - my sticker doesn't (exactly) match any of those but it does sorta match a few of them.

i have been towing a vehicle around the country for a few years but the trailer and car totaled ~4,200lbs with maybe another 500 in gear and me, no WDH. i have a great opportunity to upgrade both but the trailer and car would total out at ~8,500lbs alone so now i have to figure out if that is even possible let alone safe to do.

8500 lbs. seems like a lot of weight for that truck. Here's a rough estimate formula:

Payload - (weight of: occupants, gear, hitch) / .13 = max loaded trailer weight.

An example with your payload:

1479 minus 400 for people, 150 for gear in truck, 100 for hitch = 829. 829 / .13 = 6,376 max loaded trailer weight.
