Default Noise when accelerating?

Have an interesting sound coming from what sounds like my exhaust area, not sure if it's coming directly out of the tailpipe or somewhere on the bottom of the truck.
I just recently started towing a trailer, with my trailer fully loaded, I'm at about 6900 pounds trailer weight. Total truck with trailer is about 12700ish.
I'm about 700 or 800 pounds under the maximum weight that my truck can tow.
What I have noticed is when I accelerate hard with the trailer it sounds like my truck has no catalytic converter. It's just a loud obnoxious sound. And I get the sound when my rpm's hit between 4-5k. The truck is in tow/haul mode and I've also tried it without the tow/haul mode.

There is no noise when trailer is disconnected.

The truck is a 2013 screw eco-boost with 30k miles.

I am a new guy to this forum and this type of engine (Ecoboost). If the torque peaks at 2500 rpm, is it necessary to get the rpm's that high?

I have not accelerated towing my 6100 lb travel trailer at this rpm.

Curious if it is just resonance?

I wonder if it is a backpressure induced exhaust leak. Get under it and see if you can see any black sooty areas around the flanges.

I always felt my exhaust was quiet and thought to change it...never did.....even hauling this it was never loud... agree with sk....check for any restrictions...

I would be checking for an exhaust leak somewhere. BTW, Where are you driving that you ever need to "accelerate hard" while towing?

I just left the dealership, they took it for a test ride told me they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary and then I took them for a test ride and he told me that the noise we both heard is normal.
He said it is strictly the exhaust and the reason why we are hearing it is because the exhaust noise it is bouncing off the trailer. That's why I don't hear it when I'm traveling without a trailer. Does this make sense?

As far as the oil leak goes they said it is probably from the rear main seal. they put a dye in my oil and told me to come back in one week that way they know exactly where the leak is coming from.

Yes, it is possible. If you have a power rear window, open it and see if it is louder. If so, it could be bouncing off the trailer.

Well, it should be louder from the rear than say the drivers window when you are towing.

I tow a 30' Travel Trailer and don't notice an abnormal noise when accelerating uphill. The turbos will kick in and the noise level elevates slightly. But nothing that would make me wonder if something were wrong.
A guy I work with had an EB before I bought mine. He used to comment that it really sounded "cool" when the turbos kicked in. Nothing about mine sound "cool" when they kick in.
He is 25 and I am 58, so that could explain it a little????
