Default Need help locating truck.

I'm looking for a new truck. My parameters are very specific and am not locating anything near me.

The problem I'm running into is fords vehicle locator search engine only lets you search a 100 mile radius. While I'm coming up with 1000's of other trucks, the specific one I'm looking for isn't showing anywhere. At least within 500 miles of me. So without searching every zip code across the US, any suggestions?

What I'm looking for isn't that unusual, plenty of other forum users have them. It's just not the normal family hauler most dealerships carry today.

Just order what you want at your local dealer.

That's an option. Albeit expensive.

The 17's have some large discounts right now. So I typically wait till the year end models so I get a better deal.

Perhaps your local dealer's search engine of Ford's inventory doesn't have the same limitations.

what specifically are you looking for? I know you asked about HDPP in another thread.

Your local dealer can search wider, and more specifically, than you can. You used to be able to modify the Ford search html, but that I think got broken.

I've heard that Cars.com lets you search wider. I just tried it, and it does. I put in "heavy duty payload" in the keywords and it found ten. First one had no mention of payload, but this one did: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...1052/overview/

Ford's vehicle locator search engine available to any Ford dealer can search nation wide. Back in 2014 my daughter's Ford dealer (in Knoxville TN) searched every state east of the Mississippi river looking for an F-150 with HDPP, and there were none in captivity. Her dealer had a lot full of F-250s in stock, so she chose one of those instead of waiting for Ford to build her an F-150 with HDPP. SIL used the F-250 for a commuter car for a coupla years, and used it to haul horses to rodeos for grand-daughter to participate in barrel racing. He was very happy with the F-250 SuperCab shorty gasser, both as a commuter car and as a tow vehicle. Grand-daughter took it with her to drag her 2-horse trailer to college, where she's now involved in college rodeo.

I would do one or both of the following:

1. Go to Ford.com and build what you want. Once built, click the Chat icon and have Ford do the search for you.

2. Have your favorite Ford dealership do a nationwide search for you.

Take those with a grain of salt. I just looked into the one linked and it is not an HDPP, it doesn't even have a tow package.

What dealers really need to do is a picture of both the white and yellow tags. At least that way buyers looking for a tow rig wont have to guess. It's too bad dealers can't understand this simple concept that there just might be buyers who actually are looking for a truck to tow rather than to grocery shop.

Interesting enough, that dealer has 3 2016 models still on the lot. One is like mine but with the 5.0 and sport appearance instead of Chrome.
