I got talking to an owner of a F150 with 2.7 who used it to tow a car. He says the truck struggled from time to time on the hills in VA and NC.

The worst thing that could happen is that you buy something smaller than you need for camping and have to upgrade. RVs are typically the fastest depreciating asset you can buy.
Have you tried renting a trailer? Doing that will help you focus on what you want in a trailer and whether you can pull it with your current ride.

To the OP. I would check the GVWR and combined GAWR of the trailer, then add 15% to that. Whichever is greatest. Thats realistically what you will be tasked at hauling.

And i agree, rent a trailer. Use to do this a few times a year and it was cheaper than buying by a long shot.

X3 on the rental of a trailer first. The bride and I rented a couple found what we liked/didn't like in a floorplan. I've owned this one now for 7 years and we still see no need to buy something different. After all it just camping, wanting a dry place to sleep and cook.
