Lets see your campers being towed

I pull a 7500# dry, 10,500# loaded 5th wheel with my 2014 3.5 ecoboost. It pulls like a monster! I have the heavy payload package and I would think that if you don't, then you will most likely be exceeding your payload rating. 2015 and newer have higher payloads because of the aluminum weight savings. Check your door sticker and compare it to the sticker on the trailer. Realize that you also need to count everything else that you put into the truck including passengers.

Towed the trailer (Bullet Premier 31BHPR) home today from the dealership which is 133 miles from my house. The 3.5EB got me 10 mpg driving 65 mph with a 20 mph crosswind. The truck pulled it way better that I could have hoped. I'm not going to be one of those guys that says "I didn't even know it was back there!" because you definitely notice it's there, but when you mash the pedal down it goes..... 1750 rpm @ 65 mph in 6th gear in tow/haul mode.

There is another thread for discussing pulling 5th wheels with your F150.

I live in Alberta and we always hear that they are sticky in BC about towing to much.
Just curious if that is a reality

I've heard the same thing, but never seen it. I don't think I'd want to be overweight in these mountains anyways; 2nd gear is my friend. What I need to worry about is that at 10,500# you need an endorsement on your driver's license. My truck is rated to pull 11,100#, 2200# load.

2015 2.7 EB pulling 2017 Coachmen FE 257BH
Home from the dealership for the first time.
Still dialing in the WD hitch, didn't like how the dealer had it setup.
I had dropped the hitch ball height once before this photo.

Thanks, I thought the trailer still looked tipped up slightly. What you suggested is actually what I ended up doing after dropping it off at local short term storage spot. Haven't hooked up since that adjustment. I will be sure to use tape measure and level to check setup before our first trip in a few weeks. I knew driving it home from dealership that I didn't like the setup, seemed to have a wag to it and once I was parked at home I had a pretty good idea why. It's our first Truck & TT. Prior experience is just our Enclave pulling our 20' ski boat.

Trailer is better slightly nose down not nose high

2014 FX4 EcoScrew
My issue is that on my stock height FX4, the ball is still not low enough, so I'll be buying a new shank it looks like. Top of the hitch is at 19" and the lowest I can get the top of the ball is 21".
