Lets see your campers being towed

Yesterday I returned from a 1980 km, nine day trip. My first real tow with my F150 and really my first real tow other than an 18 wheeler.
I can now actually say I love my truck! The relatively effortless performance both accelerating and slowing had me feeling relaxed.
The mileage sucked. I got 30 L /100 km most of my trip up north from Calgary to Peace River thanks to strong headwinds for the last 700 km of the journey. It averaged out to 25 L /100 km by the time I was home.
The GCWR was about 12500 lb but the trailer is like a sail at 10.5' high.
The EB actually sounds pretty good... when aggressively accelerating up a 5 degree slope in third gear.
Anyway this thread is about pics.
The first pic shows a quick stop in Whitecourt, AB on Friday, at the leading edge of a blizzard. There were a few AWD SUVs squirming about in the ditch 10 minutes later. We were firmly planted.
Second is getting hitched up and ready to leave the campsite in Gibbons, AB on Sunday morning. Nice people there but it never got warmer than +2.
Third is at the Flying J in Red Deer on Sunday afternoon.
Fourth is my pitiful mileage (metrage?).
Fifth is a pic of the day I brought the trailer home, with my Dakota. Just to raise some eyebrows.
Some have expressed interest in interior shots. I like seeing them so here are mine: The interior pics are from the dealer website when I bought the trailer last fall.
Good to see this thread back on target! Keep it alive!

Nice trailers on here! I'm in the market for one, any beginners tips you guys can toss my way. I think my max tow is around 9000lbs with my 5.0 and 20" tires? What type/size of camper should I be looking at? Keep the pictures coming please.

You should try to not exceed about 80% of your tow capacity. With a travel trailer expect to buy a weight distributing hitch (WDH) like Equal-i-zer to transfer some weight off your back wheels to your front wheels. Go to RV shows to see what suits you within your towing constraints.

For just a couple, this "great room" layout works very well! My wife would complain about the lack of counter space and it wouldn't work for taking the grand kids along, but for a quick trip to see a concert in a neighboring state or to tool around without taking out a second mortgage for gas, it looks perfect.

My rear was riding a little low when I first hooked up my trailer (hitch set up at dealer), but aired the bags up a little (30psi) and leveled it back out but didn't lighten the front. On the way home it rode a little ruff so I inflated to 55psi and it smoothed the ride out but still did not raise the front.

If you had to add 55psi to your bags to level it out, you most likely don't have enough weight transferring. It takes 35psi for my 30' with 632# dry tongue weight.
Go to rv.net in the towing section for a how to on the proper way to set your hitch up and you will be glad you did.
By the way, adding air will not change the front ride height hardly any unless it is drastically altered.

Not always true, the rear of these trucks are soft enough (IMO) that they still bounce around even with the weight distributed. I haven't got it completely set up as I am getting larger tires next week and adding the bags. I was anxious to see how it towed power wise. Airbags make it more stable in general, not just for looks

Whoah, eagle eye Eric! I am rarely seen on the QE2.
That said, I swear I see your dad in his boss LL nearly every time I am a bit late to work, or early to come home. He is headed to Deerfoot in the AM and headed toward Macleod in the PM. If indeed it is him.
How many LL's would one be likely to see on the small stretch of Dunbow between Macleod and Deerfoot?

Yes, some sweet trailers in this thread! (bump)
