I had a 2011 King Ranch 4x4 w the 6 foot bed on it and a 24’ bay boat before and that didn’t squat at all. This is a 24 Yamaha boat with a shorter neck on the trailer. Not sure of the tongue weight but it may be more. Nonetheless, gonna get something done for rear end.
Need a good wdh

With that much sag in the rear, you have too much tongue weight. Go scale the setup and find out how much weight is on the ball. If over 500 pounds you need to either move weight in the boat or use a WDH. With less than 500 pounds on the ball the truck should be pretty much level. A set of Sumo Springs or Timbrens can help keep it level too.

My horse trailer is about 650 pounds TW and will drop the truck pretty much the way it is in your picture there, but 450-500 pounds and it is dead level.

Truck looks leveled? So that could make it look worse. Take it to the scale and get your weights, you might be able to move the boat back a few inches, 90% are not set up correctly for the boat that's on the trailer.

Yes, I put a level on the front at 2”. The Yamaha 242 comes with a purpose built trailer so there is no way to adjust how the weight sits on the trailer. Will look at springs - don’t want a harsh ride though. I had a FX4 with air suspension from my last job and it rode like a go-cart. It had Nitto Grapplers and it was a punishing ride.

This was my first boat, it was a 24 with a much longer tongue and the long bed KR. It didn’t squat nearly as much. That 5.4 was a dog in the hills though. The 6.2 won’t be a problem going back to the mountains.

The level isn't helping things, but that still looks like a lot of weight on the ball for that size boat. Our 24ft Cobalt is a much heavier boat and is only 525lbs on the ball. I would buy/borrow a tongue weight scale or tow the boat to a CAT Scale to figure out how much it actually weighs before doing anything /w springs or Airbags on the truck. Once you get real numbers we can help figure out how to make the headlights not point to the sky.

you can't move the stake at all? Might be a one size fits many yami models and you have a tail light one.

I have the opposite issue, i have less than 50 lb of tw on a 21' cuddy cabin that's close to 4500 with trailer. I need to move it up but the roller is already at the transom. i only go 2 miles at 25mph so im not too worried i guess.

@ACDII: Are you using a weight distributing hitch? .

Thanks - will see what my options are before I do springs or bags. I love a Cobalt, great boat. I live with salt water 100 yards out the back door and it can be shallow in the creeks and such - went with the jet boat to avoid visits to the prop doctor but would love a Cobalt. It is amazing what those big block motors weight but that is weight at the rear, which would help. Mine has two 1.8 HO Yamaha motors but I don’t think it weighs nearly what the Cobalt does.

Thanks, this is our second Cobalt. Loved them both. We were just in Florida - if we lived down there I would totally have a jet boat that I could drive in the shallower water and park up on sandbars. We are lucky to live on a lake that is 100ft deep in some places.

Dry weight on this is 4,650, add in an upgraded V8, 50 gals of fuel coolers ice drinks and I just round up to 5,250. Figure the Trailer is 1,250 and we are at 6,500 give or take.

I have not weighed the boat and trailer, but have verified the tongue weight. It's at 525lbs and levels the truck almost exactly. Many on here would say over 500/5000 and you need a WDH but I don't mess w/ it and it pulls fine.
