You have geico insurance, call and ask.

I’ve had geico, USAA, Erie, progressive, and liberty mutual.

every single one of them covered any trailer that was connected to the truck, including a 6x10 that hauls my $10k diesel Kubota. If it’s disconnected (like left at a site) that’s a different story.

since it’s only a 5x8 I’m assuming one mower and equipment? Had you had a 32 ft trailer with 4 zero turns on it with the name of your company, might be different. You could even tell your insurance company that you mow a few lawns for cash. Whether you report the income to the IRS is between you and the govt. I’m not getting into laws regarding small business and when a license is required and when business insurance is required because it’s the internet.

Do you folks know if a trailer is covered against theft when parked in your driveway? Maybe homeowners insurance covers that? I have State Farm, and am afraid to ask. Every time I talk to them, my bill goes up!

its all in your contract, ask for a copy of your specific contract.

my old homeowners insurance did not cover sheds, trailers, or other detached items but my new policy does.
