But you have to get out of the truck to put the chocks behind the front wheels, right?
I think the 2X4 on the brake pedal (redneck line lock) is the better solution. And leave it in park.

I used to have this problem with my 4X4 launching in things like sand and mud. Once the back wheels hit the sand/mud/water mixture the rear wheels sunk and the truck was all but stuck so I extended the trailer tung by 4 feet. Now my boat is completely floating and my back wheels are still on dry land. The new longer tongue also gave me room for a spare tire and a tool box.
