Increasing my payload

I've never quite "believed" in the rated payload of these trucks
My sticker states 6 passenger, cargo + occupants must not be greater then 1,250 lbs (not sure exact wording)
So if there are 6 250 lb guys in the truck I am 250 lbs over the capacity ?
Please......
Does Ford under estimate the payload to avoid liability ?? Probably
But to tell me if I have 6 passengers I can't carry any cargo is just plain stupid
That said I've never had 6 250 lb guys in my truck
I goofed once & miscalculated my load....over 2,000 lbs...forget exactly (pavers)
Never had a single problem, took it slow & was not driving for more then 1 hour
The weight was centered against the back of the cab, I even put some in the cab/front floor to even out the load
Towing a trailer is different, especially when you may be driving 4-8 hours with it behind you
I'd like a trailer that weighs at least #1000 (dry unloaded) under my limit, better safe then sorry
Not worried about 200 lb over, more worried about going up Hills

You guys are making me feel bad. I'm just doing my homework BEFORE purchasing a trailer. If I'm only off 200 lbs before loading the rear of the toy hauler, plus the reduction from the WD hitch, I might be below my limit. Plus the wife said she wants to go on a diet anyway.
We have found two more trailers that meet our criteria with less hitch weight, one by 120 lbs, but we we haven't looked at them yet.

The only real, for sure way to know is to hook it up and start towing.

My recommendation is to get the trailer you want, then size your rig accordingly to pull it. Meanwhile, let me go back to F350 shopping

So, all this hoopla over a couple hundred pounds? Really? For a couple hundred pounds I wouldn't even bat an eye. That rating on your truck? It is designed to safely handle that weight all day long for it's lifetime. Dude. Hook and go.
Smokey- your advice is always sound, but don't smash on people who don't want or can't justify a super duty for towing a couple trips a year. I can recall two threads where you openly admit to being nearly half ton over your GVWR pulling. For you to call out some folks as "idiots" then turn around and do the exact same thing is pretty hypocritical. Sir Isaac Newton doesn't give two craps about all the experience in the world. If he decides to have an issue with you, you won't win. If you followed your own advice you should be driving and F250.

Hey Nautique if you are still thinking about the KZ MXT303, here is my experience so far with only 5 nights camping.
1. Cable does not work at any of the 3 outlets. Had to bring it in through the window.
2. Water gushes out from under the trailer whether we are using water from the holding tank or the site's water.
3. One curtain retainer screw pulled out from wall.
4. Caulking done by a 3rd grader.
5. Window weather stripping at 2 windows coming off.
6. Just tonight I found the black water did not want to come out when I hooked up.
7. Holes made for utilities must have been "drilled" with a 3lb hammer.
We are on a 3 week trip now so it will back to the dealer when we get home.
But hey, it looks good. I am very frustrated at this point.
