GCWR is just as important as GVWR...or at least I think it's just as illegal if you exceed it.

My truck has a 2100# payload but only 14k GCWR...It would not be difficult for me to exceed GCWR but not GVWR. I would also have to keep a close eye on each GAWR and my hitch rating.

But, being that I don't have a brake controller. I don't tow heavy trailers anyway.

SCREW 4x4 6.5' box 'XTR' which is pretty close to as loaded as the XLT's go. Power everything, running boards, tailgate step, 20" rims, etc, (no moon roof). Live and learn lol.

They just don't have the ratings these new ones have.

That is correct. And after you've done this you can say "I've upped my payload, now up yours!".

That is no joke, I have a 14' XTR with those exact options + leather. My payload is just shy of 1500, 7350gvwr

2038lbs here is my base XLT. It has what you need to tow without paying a ton.

That would be nice to have but more weight amd it would also be more things to go wrong.

I'm at 2112# and really I'm pretty happy. I have a nice V8 engine, 4wd, a backseat (even though it's not full size) power windows and locks and seat. What more does someone really need? (yes, that was rhetorical. I know everyone's needs are different)
