^ I would want a 3/4 ton to tow that, but I am going to be constantly towing through the pacific mountain range so conditions are much harsher. I just picked up an aspen trail 275bh that is the exact layout as Mike Up's jayco and about the same wt. Loaded with gear it's between 6000-6500lbs. It tows like a dream but it's about as big as I will go with a 1/2 ton. If I had max tow/ payload package I could see going up to 9000lbs for a fully loaded trailer but past that I would move up to the big boy trucks...

With my family and gear, it would be to much trailer.
In fact what does your hitch weight come in at loaded? Going by it's dry weight of 7400 lbs, adding a few hundred lbs for options and another 1000 lbs after loading it, you would be to heavy on the hitch weight for the trucks hitch receiver rating. The rating on the 2009 - 2012 is 1050 lbs and at the average 13% (which it could be even higher) is at 1131 lbs. This is definitely 3/4 ton truck territory with that monster.
Glad to see you have gotten away with pulling it.
