Help
Hi guys I just got a 2022 f150 lariat with 3.5 eco boost 3.31 rear end with tow package, supercrew, 5.5bed. I understand isn’t the max tow package isn’t the 3.55 or 3.73 which is built for better towing.
I had a 2022 expedition with the max tow package (9000 pounds max towing) which was able to tow my Heartland Mallard 32 ft travel trailer with dry weight of 6000 pounds. I’m guessing loaded my trailer is about 7500-8000 if I had to guess.
But just wondering if I would have any issues with the new f150 which is rated to tow 11,000 pounds according to the dealer I bought it from.
it’s my first pick up just wanted some insight from you guys. I plan on doing a cross country trip next year.
Also if I put a 2.5 leveling kit to the front end, with own raptors tires and wheels would that change the tow rating? If you have any suggestions for off road tires that are good on the road and won’t mess with the towing please let me know.
FYI, I know it’s not the best truck for towing. The f250-350’s were just too expensive.

Truck payload is going to the the 1st limit with a TT. What is yours? It will be on a sticker in the drivers door frame.
It is almost identical size and weight to mine which some half tons will due but it is near the upper limits and some people say don't do it.

As long as you’re within the numbers you should be just fine. I’d probably test out the towing first before putting on the leveling kit just to see what kind of squat you experience and make note of that for when choosing what level you want to run.
That looks like you should have about 600lbs for anything in or on the truck that wasn't there when you left the factory. Does that work for you?
You will also need a good WDH with built in sway control, Blue Ox, Equalizer, Pro Pride to name a few. I had the Blue Ox sway pro and was generally satisfied with it until some wind issues last fall and have upgraded to the Pro Pride, only one trip with the Pro Pride so far but I think it will be worth it.

The trailers hitch weight is approx 650-700 pounds, I have an equalizer 4 point weight distribution hitch. So that 600 pounds would be too low? I’m sorry I towed with my expedition it did squat in the back but it worked. So confused a little bit, I know that the passenger and cargo count against my payload and towing. Just wasn’t sure what you meant by that.

The 600lbs was my guess at remaining payload on the truck after the hitch and TW are taken off of the total payload. That would be available for people, pets and anything else in or on the truck.

There are too many probably and guesses here. I say you are on the very high end, it might do it, it will suck almost the whole time driving. Others certainly will do it on this forum, they'll have you add air bags, better tires, and rabbit hole you even further, I have a better optioned maxtow, it would be at my max end, and length.. no comment. You are in superduty territory, just my opinion, try it, you'll see.

Your payload is the same as on my 2019. My hitch weight for my trailer is about 750 with 5000lbs on the trailer axle. I ended up removing some factory stuff on the truck just so I could carry stuff in the bed and stay under the gvwr of the truck..7050lbs
Ultimately GVWR is what you care about, but watch out for overloading the rear axle as well. The rear axle on your truck only 3800 ( mine is 4050 and I come very close to it)
And be careful on tires as they can get heavy quick. I kept P tires but went to 117t for better handling while towing.
