Default Getting ready

Well the wife and I decide to rent an RV to try out camping before we buy one. I figure I would rather spend $600 to find out I like it than to spend 20K to find out I don't. The rental place provides the hitch so I ordered the TBC from Tasca, it came today. I will put it in this weekend and get it turned on next week.

Now I just need to get some slip on towing mirrors. I found some ***** for $70 that will fit my mirrors with the turn signals. Any body have these? I am sure they are not as nice as the factory tow mirrors, but I can get those later if I end up buying a travel trailer.

I had them, until I decided to park my 5th wheel on a permanent campsite. They work great!

I remember years ago my dad had these great big metal ones that were held to the door with springs stretched down to the bottom of the door.

In all honesty, you can get away without tow mirrors. Is it safer to use them, of course. But, you can easily do without. I did for a while and then broke down and got them, but I did have a video baby monitor in the back window of my 5th wheel so I could see my boat. I also worked great, when I wasn't double towing, as a way to see who was coming up and how close they were.

"...I did have a video baby monitor in the back window of my 5th wheel ..."

That is funny, but a good Idea.
