Gear Swap

Gear Swap
Just curious if anyone on here has swapped gears in their 2015 F150. Mine has the 3.31 gear and I was looking at installing a 4.10 gear set for better towing. I have also been looking at a 3.73 also. Anyone had experience with the 4.10? The service manager at my local dealership said the they can provide a factory flash up to the 4.10 if I wanted it. I know that once loaded with a 7,000 travel trailer the 3.31 will probably struggle a bit, just want something to make the towing better.
2015 f150 XLT Screw, 5.0 v8, 3.31, payload 1990lbs.

You wont like 4:10 for non tow driving, the 3:73 would be better suited. If you had the EB, it will tow that weight with 3:15 gears. There are rumors the 5.0 and 3:31 gears are not really good for towing, something about bad programming.

Thanks
Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it greatly. I thought about buying a 3.5 EB, but was just a little weary of the durability of the turbos. LOL, I guess I'm just an old V8 guy.

If you think old school where they slapped a turbo on a normal engine as an afterthought, yep would agree with you, but the Ecoboost is designed from the ground up to have the turbos. As long as you keep the oil clean, the air filter clean, and perform normal maintenance, they should last the life of the truck.
Look at it this way, just about every diesel engine built since 1999 and up has had a turbo on it, big rigs have had turbos for decades, with millions of miles on them. The Ecoboost is based on a diesel engine, but designed for spark ignition. I have full confidence in them.

Your an old v-8 guy, maybe old like me.....the 3.5 eco is a 213 cubic inch engine, the 5.0 is a 302. Which engine do you think sees more stress.
The 5.0 is a solid puller with the 3.73 gear set and as said before it is a great balance between towing and daily driving. I personally have the 5.0 with the 3.55's and I am very happy with how it works and I find that some times I find that a little common sense, not power, will go a long way to making a happy pull. That is not to say that I have not tried the eco 3.5 and I am not saying that it isn't impressive but like you I fear turbo headaches.
I should say this though, if you can't pull 7000lbs with a 360hp V8 than something is definitely wrong.

How to you figure that? The 3.5 eco is a very small engine compared to the 302 yet they make very similar horsepower numbers. The 302 is definetly under less stres per cubic inch. You'R NOT ANOTHER ONE OF THESE FOOLS TRYIG TO START AND ECO ARGUEMENT ARE YOU?
