I've made that trip multiple times, but not when towing. Loaded heavy several times. With most vehicles above 8000' you really notice the loss of engine power. I had a 2002 F-150 with the 4.6L V8 that just barely had enough power to get to the top of Pikes Peak at 14,000' and it only had 4 adults in the cab. Nothing in the back at the time.

I have a very similar equipped truck and wouldn't want to make that trip with that much weight behind me.
