All went exceptionally well. Road traveled app. 500mi. Did NOT have anti-sway bar installed but was told that the Reese 66541 would do a good job of sway control under normal circumstances. Additionally, trailer was NOT equipped for sway control. With the exception of a small amount of movement caused by overtaking semi's, had no problems with trailer behaving itself. Kept our speed at 60mph just because of new experience.
Kept both vehicles well within weight capacities.
Averaged a little over 11 mpg on varying road conditions. Some uphills, some downhills, nothing extreme in either case.
Very impressed with Ecoboost's towing ability. Even with 3:31 gears, truck seemed to have strong pulling power. never seemed to be over-working.
Plan on doing more of this.! Caveats:
Smaller, lighter trailer. Only two of us. Trailer was thru RVShare and only one available in our area on short notice. 28' was a lot of trailer for two.

Yes I'm aware of the Reese Dual Cam Sway Control unit. But it requires bolting directly to the trailer frame. For the short term we're planning on renting trailers (the Layton was a rental) to be certain in fact if this is something we want to do on a regular basis.
I didn't think owner/rentors would want me drilling holes in their frames to accomodate my sway control system.
I'm not aware of any type of temporary mount sway control setups. I've seen other type systems that mount to a smaller ball on the ball mount on the tow vehicle and attach to the trailer tongue with another tongue mounted ball. But this would require drilling the tongue as well.
The Equalizer or Fastway E2 are clamp-on with WD & sway control. I just rented a camper from friends of ours last month but they don't have a WDH, so I borrowed the Fastway from another friend and clamped it on to the frame.
