Finally gave in, the 16 5.0 was traded on a 17 250 6.7

That is basically what you get with a 350. You do get stiffer springs and upgraded axles, both of which are options on the 250, but the 10k GVWR is always the limiting factor. With a gas V8 instead of the diesel, the payload is mid to high 3k pounds as the diesel adds so much weight.

I loved my F350 Dually, but it became a maintenance *****, and when I needed to replace my destroyed 14 I considered another Superduty and test drove a 17 F350 XLT. That 6.7 is an awesome motor, I spun the tires on that truck pulling off a side road. I also test drove a 2015 Lariat, but didn't like the shorter cab interior with the storage tray underneath, and it rode rough and felt loose, but those were my only choices and I was in a crunch to get a replacement truck.
I would have considered the 17, but when I added up the increased cost of diesel and oil changes, I sadly had to forget it as it was over my budget. You will love how that truck tows, the mass of that diesel will make that trailer feel like a toy back there.

If your F-150 had the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, and you tightened the spring bars to result in the front end being no more than one-half inch higher with the trailer than without a trailer, you probably wouldn't have considered trading for the bigger truck. But that's water over the dam now, so enjoy the new tow vehicle.
The OP wont have any towing problems now with the F250 Diesel. I should know my previous truck was a 3/4 ton Duramax/Allison.

Honestly, parking has been the only thing I dislike about the truck. It is significantly longer and trying to pull into a space straight is a magic trick I have yet to master.

LOL try it with an extra pair of wheels in the back! OTOH having those extra wheels was fun when you have buttheads who like to take up two spaces, just park with the wheels even with their drivers door. They can't get in or out, but you can!

Nice truck, would have loved a SD if I didn't have to use it as the DD. I'd be changing the oil on the 6.7 way to much.
On a side note, how did those clip on mirrors on the f150 work out for you? I had tow mirrors on my 2.7, but I recently traded it in for a 5.0 with standard mirrors. Since the 5.0 is a lariat the tow mirrors are stupid expensive. So think I might just buy some clip ons as I only tow on the weekends.

very nice truck. i like to do the dream and build on the ford website. i think the biggest difference you will notice is the weight if the f250 makes the trailer more tame.
edit. i always back in to parking spots. way easier then pulling in. and makes leaving easier.

Nice truck!
You'll never look back on your F150 the first time you pull out to pass a slower vehicle going uphill and into the wind with your trailer! The PSD just never runs out of steam. I still miss my 2013 F250 PSD.
