Ecoboost performance advice needed
One more thing I've heard about about hauling heavy loads up steep grades: Premium gas may be helpful, especially when it's hot.
Enjoy your truck.

Thanks Kevin, good to hear the EB can handle a trailer that heavy. Did you haul up any steep grades with your 7500lbs? I will be regularly towing on a highway that has an 18 mile stretch at about 8% grade. I'm interested in how other folks EB's handle this type of situation.

Truck is: 3.5 EB 4x4, 145" WB, Screw, Max tow pkg, 3.73
My Manual says:
GCWR= 17,100#
Max Trailer weight= 11,300#
My Truck Sticker says:
GVWR= 7650#
GAWR (front) = 3750#
GAWR (rear) = 4050#
Maximum combined weight of occupants and cargo= 1765#

I still think it will be no problem for the truck. Like others have said, use premium fuel when towing and let the tow/haul mode do it's job and you should be good to go.
6% grade, 7500# travel trailer, three miles, 55mph, 105 degrees outside.
At that speed, she was turning 2400 rpm in fourth gear. Coolant Temp stared raising and got as high as 228 and was still creeping up. So I dropped back to 45 mph and temp rapidly dropped back to 205.
Moral of the story? Water cooled turbos eventually will raise coolant temp it's hot enough outside.
Granted, 105 temp outside was way out of the normal. That same drive I normally don't get any higher than 205-208 with temps in low nineties.
If you take it easy, you have more than enough motor.
