Do I have a trailer brake?
Bought a '22 XLT with the 302A option group. Build sheet says Trailer Sway Control and it has the 7-way plug and Class IV hitch. When I pull up Towing on touch screen it shows the gain, light test, and all the other things you would expect in a towing package. No Brake Controller in the cab with the gain control and manual squeezy thing. So, my question is do I just need the squeezy thing or do I have to pop for the $600 installation my dealer says I need?
When adding the ITBC, it needs to be programmed to function. $600 sounds like a lot.
You can buy one (only buy from an authorized ford dealer as there are more knock offs than real ones) and you can program using forscan. Or, you need to have the dealer program.

Even with a year license of Forscan you are $360 less than the Stealer.

All in all I'm a very happy camper, since I can now actually tow my camper! Thanks for everyone's responses.

UPDATE: Dealer agreed to install the brake controller free of charge and give me a second key fob (in exchange for not fixing the small dent in the front fender). Now if I can just figure out how to get the Navigation and SiriusXM back that some goober had the factory delete from the 302A option group. Saved a measly $200. The SiriusXM I can understand because you have to buy a subscription, but Navigation? Why would you not want Navigation?

On my 2020 Lariat, Navigation was an additional option I opted to purchase. I must say, I wasted $$$. It is quirky, unfriendly with voice recognition, and traffic updates are dismal compared to Google maps. I never use my Ford navigation, simply plug your phone in and use Google maps imo.
