Default Chiming sound while towing

Today I was towing my TT and as soon as I hit the highway a chiming sound would pop up at different intervals. I was using CarPlay for navigation so I thought it was something on my phone. Swapped phones, same thing. So it was the truck, but no visible alerts on the dashboard or screen. It was driving me crazy. Finally I switched to the truck navigation screen and voila, a warning ⚠️ with something to the effect of weight restrictions on route. This has never happened before. After fiddling through the menus, found something about trailer route optimization. Turned that off and the warning disappeared. Stopped for fuel and the whole thing began again.
I assume this came with some software update. How do I get rid of it for good? Do I have to configure something about the trailer? Thanks in advance.

Is your sync up to date per the ford website entering your vin# ? The last edition of sync created memory issues, fixed by the current version.

There is a thread on here about this. If you figure it out, let me know. In summary, there is a setting in Navigation to turn off the notifications. If you don't pay the subscription fee you won't have access to the settings page to turn it off. It's one of the several complaints I have about Ford's lack of attention to detail in using all their cool tech in real life.
