Brake Controllers
#21
Well I got my brake controller in, took about 20 minutes of going slow and trying not to break anything. Took about 5 minutes going backwards and buttoning everything up.
I was not able to program it though with FORscan. My Surface4 saw the truck and connected to my bluetooth ODBII adapter, but I was not able to get the HSCan3 modules to load which is where the IBC settings are.

I thunk I answered this in another thread for you, but as far as I know the 19h332 comes with fuses and relays. Order the 2c006. I did and installed and programmed it yesterday. No problems.

You did, thank you. I ordered the cheaper part, waiting for my dash kit to come in to install everything at once.

Looking for some feedback please...Just picked up my 2018 Screw XLT sport with 2.7l eco...3.55 rear
I need to add a brake controller...I picked up the trailer today and the trailer dealer sold me a wire adapter and an external brake controller. it does the job but i would MUCH prefer the OEM install controller.
I am having a tough time figuring out if I can add the OEM controller. My truck has the class IV hitch and plugs on the bumper. We did not order a specific towing package. The external unit works - we pulled the plug from behind the dash. Can I order the controller from Autonation Ford (about $110) and install? or do i lack other features required and stuck with this external unit?
only towing up to about 5000-6000 lbs on occasion so we didnt spring for the 3.5l with max tow. mistake?
thanks!

Yes, you can order the OEM integrated trailer brake controller (ITBC) from discount Ford parts source AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake ( https://parts.autonationfordwhitebea...bC12Ni1nYXM%3D )
and install it yourself. But since you don't have a tow pkg, then you will be limited to 500 pounds max hitch weight. And the brake controller won't work until after your Ford dealer flashes the computer in your F-150 so it will recognize the ITBC.
And in addition to the ITBC, you will also need the trailer tow pigtail that includes the 7-pin plug as well as the 4-pin plug. Talk to the guys at the parts counter and be sure they understand that you need the 7-pin pigtail that will plug into the truck's wiring harness where the 4-pin harness now plugs in.

Good info i appreciate the feedback...
According to the dealer and the info they printed out for me, the 2.7 eco with the 3.55 axle 4x4 145" WB is rated 7,600 lbs Max trailer weight. This is an 18 with the 10 speed trans. Total GCWR 12,900
He bought a enclosed trailer today, weighs approx 1200 lbs - aluminum frame so light. we carry on occasion about 3-4000 lbs max of product. so can get close to the rating.
there is no footnote in this column, i see a footnote with a few other options/columns. I will definitely confirm the hitch weight with the dealer tomorrow. My boss bought the truck over the weekend (31st) and i was out of town. The trailer info was provided to the dealer and we were assured we would be ok...maybe the 7600 rating is with tow pack - but not noted on the chart.
its always something...

Additionally, you COULD take it to ford and pay them to activate it, or you can buy a $20 OBD adapter and do it yourself with Forscan like I did.
I would look at your door sticker for weights and capacities. The 500/5000 max is without a weight distributing hitch and is the same for every F150.
