Not really. Any black & white pattern like that will work. The system only looks for the corners where the squares meet. If your trailer has a white top surface in-view of the truck's camera, you could cut squares of common ~3/4" black electrical tape to make that pattern, and it would work until the tape peeled off. But you could paint black squares onto a white background (or vice versa).
