Default Is this an auxiliary trans cooler?

I have a 2016 2.7 Lariat. I was peeking through the grill and noticed what looks like the auxiliary transmission cooler. I do not have the tow package option, but does this mean I can effectively tow over the 5000lb limit if I installed the front sway bar from the tow package?

On a 2016 the oil-to-air (OTA) heat exchanger for the auxiliary tranny cooler is in front near the bottom of the radiator. On the 2018 F-150 is there no OTA heat exchanger as part of the towing package.. Instead, on a 2018, the tranny cooler is an oil-to-water (OTW) heat exchanger located behind the radiator. The order guide I used to order my 2019 says there is an auxiliary tranny cooler, but I can't find it on mine. So I asked the service manager and he didn't know. So he looked in the service area of dealer.ford.com an did not see an auxiliary tranny cooler for any 2019 F-150, with any engine or tow pkg..

Isn't the one at the bottom the intercooler? The OTA on my is closer to the top.

So the new one isn't working that well? I haven't heard one way or another until not. The one he has pictures where the coils are in front of the rad definitely looks to be the tranny cooler to me anyway. From what I've read, all 2017 3.5 came with the OTA cooler and it was the same one on all models.

Thank you for all the replies. Unfortunately I’m unable to get a picture from the top. There’s a plastic cover in the way. But yes, this is closer to the top of the radiator and it sits in front. It’s rectangular in shape.

Does the 2019 still have the OTW cooler in addition to the OTA?

The OTA on a 2016 is up near the middle of the radiator, but still much closer to the top of the grill. It looks low in the pictures, but pretty close to the 2009-2014 trucks.

Yes, the 2019 is back to the 2017 design. OTW heat exchanger in the bottom of the radiator of all F-150s, plus the OTA heat exchanger in front of the radiator in those F-150s with a, OEM towing package.
