I think the F150 has a relay to open that circuit when the key is off. There is a way to get around it so maybe someone with experience will chime in. Might want to search because I know this has already been discussed.

New to this site. Need advice. Just bought a 2012 F150 Ecoboost w/3.55 rear axle, 5 1/2 ft bed. Dealer assured me it would pull my 31' Outback pull-behind camper with no swaying, no problem. I went to dealership intending to buy the Ecoboost 3.73 rear axle. Took it for a ride with the camper this am and can't believe the truck started swaying at 60mph! Guess I should have insisted on the 3.73?? Going back to dealership in am...

The axle ratio shouldn't have anything to do with sway. Do you have sway control built in with your WD hitch?

He traded the silverado and got an F150? I will assume that is what you meant, and that he got a new 2012 or 2013 F150. Does it have the trailer tow package? If so, you will need to install a relay and fuse in the underhood fuse box. Both came in a small plastic bag in the glove box. The manual details which positions in the box, but if you look at the box diagram on the lid, you should be able to figure it out.

LOTS of thing cause sway. What is your tongue weight and what is the GVWR for the trailer? Is it towing tongue high or low? Are the trailer and/or truck tires both aired to recommended specs?
