There is no "Wonder hitch" that is all things to all people. The closest thing is a tow vehicle and trailer that needs none. I towed with a GM 2500HD that "required" no WD hitch according to GM, and they were correct. It had a 3,400 pound payload and my tongue weight was under 1,000 pounds. What is your payload per the yellow door sticker? Spring steel makes a better spring than a plastic cushion if you need maximum rear suspension help. There is a long list of suspension and tire upgrades that might help also. If you take the time to run your combination over the scales you will learn a lot.

I have used the Anderson hitch for several, years now on a 5000 lbs trailer. It has been effective at both WD and sway with a trailer in this weight range. I can usually hook it up in less than a couple of minutes. Once the coupler is connected I use my electric tongue jack to lift up the truck/trailer combo a bit, which allows the tension in the chains to release, making the triangle plate easy to align with the pin hole. Once the pin is in I lower electric tongue jack to travel position. In rare situations when the truck and trailer are not completely aligned in a straight line I may have to loosen the bushing nuts to release the chain tension.
