Adding Tow Package
I bought a used 2018 F150 XLT 3.5 eco-boost that does not have a factory tow package. I co-purchased a travel trailer with a buddy of mine that we have taken to a local campsites. I installed a 7-pin connector and spliced it to the factory 4-pin as a temporary solution, but I need to install a brake controller so it’s fully functional. I understand I need to purchase an aftermarket brake controller, but I don’t know if I need to run wires or if I can use an adapter on the existing harness. I’ve read through a dozen threads on this forum and others, and I can’t get a clear solution that applies to my vehicle.
I checked the fuse block, and there are contacts in the #24 slot that others without the tow package have stated they do not have. Because the contacts are in the appropriate fuse space, I am questioning whether or not I need to run the wires or if I just need to purchase adapters and equipment.
thanks in advance!

As far as I know, if it didnt come with the factory hitch, then you wouldnt have upgraded radiator, and upgraded fans. Also the truck might not have the wiring, or maybe just a lack of some wiring for the integrated brake controller.
