Ok perfect you have a hitch! Personally I'm going with bags on my truck. If you have bags you don't really need an add a leaf too. The bags can be deflated to around 5 psi for a smoother ride unloaded and pumped up to eliminate sag when towing or loading the bed. There's a pic on here buddy has a screw like mine with bags and he had a whopping 5500lbs in the bed! Way over loaded but shows what these bags can do! I do not recommend ever loading up a 1/2 ton like thAt though!

That's an insane weight in the bed , I don't plan to ever do that I'm mainly looking at what I can do for towing.

Ya I know... Was just pointing out how good the bags work.

assuming when i put new gears in it i should get a limited slip ? or would this not help ? also i know in cars going from say a 28 spline axle to a 31 spline axle helped with being able to essentialy handle more HP , is there anything of the sort involved with being able to help with Towing more ? or just rear gears?

I dont think a limited slip will help much towing on pavement. If you had to get really heavy trailers moving on gravel or slippery roads it probably would. That axle will handle it (8.8) I had essentially the same truck as you and towed a few heavy things. If you do a gear swap then it's probably easy to put in a limited slip but I don't know about that for sure. But 4.10 gears would help get that trailer moving!

k for some reason im finding it a lil hard to locat a gear and pinion set (4.10 gear) on a website , not use to truck sites so im not sure who is more reputable or not . Any advice on a truck site for parts?

Hmmm to be honest I'm not sure maybe 4 wheel parts. Summit racing your rear end is an 8.8 I believe

etrailer.com seems to be the place im finding alot of parts that will help including a better tow hitch thats rated for more (my current hits is only 4500 trailer weight 500 tongue weight)

We had a talk about Air Lift and possible adding a leaf for less sagging , i was curious if something like this http://www.etrailer.com/Vehicle-Susp...id=19981010482 would be more ideal for a better fit.

That's another option. But they are what they are you can't let air in or out to soften or stiffen the ride but I hear they work really well

the air can handle up to 3000lb the other can do up to 6000lb (not that i plan to put that much weight in the rear, i guess the air system would be better if im looking at only towing the weight not loading the weight right ? (just got a 1,500lb tongue weight 10k pound tow weight , with a ball hitch that will match that.

Looking to order the suspension sometime within the next week just have to figure out all the parts i need.

Also would Disc breaks be more suitable for stopping power ? or will the drums work just as well ?
