I use manual mode with cruise control. 4th and 5th gear most of the way at 70mph. Dropped to 3rd going up the mountains. Only had to drop to 2nd one time and that was going up the eisenhower tunnel because there was traffic and didn't have enough speed for 3rd gear. Averaged 10mpg, best was 13mpg going through some montana mountains, and worst was 8mpg going through south dakota (lots of wind). Only had one "oh ****" moment in Montana when a huge wind gust suddenly hit the trailer. Sway bars are your friend. Aside from that I didn't have much issue with sway. Overall I'm happy with how the truck performed.

That is a great shot!

Here's my '16, 5.0, 3.55EL, 4wd, SCAB XLT. I have plenty of payload, but the 3.55 axle severely limits my GCWR at only 14000#, and no brake controller.

I'm not sure on the trailer weight, but it is fairly old and only a single axle. Coupled with the old spring bar/chain WDH, it puts a good bit of weight on the hitch. Truck pulled it no problem, but I would add a brake controller before I go more than a couple miles.

I have a 2013 5.0 XLT with no mods and I’m trying to figure out if I need bags. The trailer I’m looking at is 5600lbs dry weight and I believe the max my truck can tow is 6000lbs after having a me in it. I don’t know much about towing heavy trailers
